House of Kairos: Seseh’s New Luxury Fitness and Wellness Club

Located among the rice fields of Seseh, House of Kairos is taking a different approach to the traditional Bali gym combining high-end training facilities with hospitality, recovery, co-working and a distinctly social-club feel. Seseh has been steadily developing its own identity within Bali’s fitness and wellness scene, and House of Kairos is one of the newest additions to the area. But calling it simply a gym doesn’t quite capture what has been created here. Spread across multiple levels, House of Kairos combines training spaces, recovery facilities, a swimming pool, studios, a café, co-working areas and spaces designed for members to spend time outside their workouts. The approach is immediately apparent from the moment you arrive. The design, materials, equipment and service all lean towards a more elevated interpretation of the modern fitness club. And there is a reason behind the name.

Finding the Right Moment

When we spoke with the owner, they explained that Kairos comes from the ancient Greek word describing the exact, critical or opportune moment for action. It is an appropriate concept for a facility opening in Seseh at a time when Bali’s fitness scene is becoming increasingly sophisticated. The team hopes that this represents the right moment for House of Kairos, and for Seseh. The club’s own positioning is “A Home for Kindred Spirits,” reflecting its intention to be more than a place where members arrive, train and leave. House of Kairos describes itself as combining the atmosphere of a private social club with a premium fitness and wellness retreat.

More Than a Gym

Walk through the entrance and the first impression isn’t necessarily that of a traditional fitness facility. Reception leads into a library and co-working area, giving members somewhere to work, read or simply spend time before or after training. Then there is the café.With its dark burgundy and chocolate-toned palette, considered furniture and restaurant-style layout, the café feels capable of standing independently as a hospitality space rather than simply being an extension of a gym. This is an important part of the Kairos concept. The facility is designed around the idea that members don’t necessarily have to leave once their workout is finished. Members can train, have a coffee, work, eat, recover, swim or spend time in the space without having to move between different venues. The club’s digital experience also supports this approach, with members able to manage their membership, book classes and access other club services through its app.

Training Across Four Levels

One of the most noticeable architectural features inside House of Kairos is its large spiral staircase, which visually connects the different levels of the building. Each floor has its own purpose. On the main training levels, the focus is on equipment and space.

The cardio area faces out towards the surrounding rice fields, making the view part of the training environment. The strength area features Technogym equipment alongside barbells, dumbbells and other strength-training equipment. Rather than separating the training areas from the building’s architectural identity, the equipment and workout spaces have been incorporated into the overall interior design.

Functional Training and Studios

Move upstairs and the facility becomes more varied. Two dedicated studio spaces host Pilates and indoor classes, while another area is dedicated to strength and conditioning.

For those interested in functional training and HYROX-style workouts, the equipment selection includes rowers, SkiErgs, bikes, pull-up stations, medicine balls and other functional training tools. The functional training concept also extends to the rooftop, where outdoor sessions can take advantage of Bali’s climate and open surroundings. This creates a separation between the traditional cardio and strength areas and the more functional-training environment.

Recovery With a View

Perhaps the most distinctive part of House of Kairos is found downstairs. The lower-ground level opens into a large swimming pool, surrounded by sunbeds and spaces designed for time away from training. There is also a recovery area featuring an ice bath, sauna and steam room. The setting allows the recovery facilities to work alongside the broader Bali environment rather than functioning as an enclosed wellness space.

Members can use the pool, recovery facilities and surrounding areas as part of their time at the club, extending the experience beyond the training floor.

Designed Around the Experience

The premium positioning of House of Kairos is reflected throughout the facility from its interior design and equipment to the hospitality-focused reception, café, co-working area and recovery spaces. Membership currently starts at around IDR 36 million per year, placing the club firmly within Bali’s premium fitness market. The club also plans to limit its overall membership as it develops, with the intention of maintaining the level of service and experience offered to members.

Its location is another important part of the proposition. Situated in Seseh, the club benefits from a quieter environment and views across the surrounding rice fields, while remaining accessible from Bali’s established fitness communities around Canggu, Pererenan and the wider southwest coast.

An Elevated Model for Bali Fitness

House of Kairos represents a broader approach to the modern fitness club, bringing training, recovery, hospitality and workspaces together within a single destination. The facility combines dedicated areas for cardio, strength, functional training and Pilates with a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and ice bath. Outside the training environment, members have access to a café, library and co-working space. The result is a membership model built around more than access to gym equipment. It positions fitness as one part of a wider lifestyle and hospitality experience. For Seseh, the arrival of House of Kairos adds another premium destination to an area that is increasingly developing beyond its traditional residential and surf-oriented identity.

As Bali’s fitness market continues to expand, House of Kairos is part of a growing shift towards facilities that combine training, wellness, community and hospitality under one roof.
